Nic West is an abstract artist based on the island of Alderney (close to northern France).

A few years ago she sold her belongings and moved from the UK mainland to the island, initially living for several years in.a dilapidated building with panoramic sea views.

Sea, storms, and coastal textures, influence her paintings. Working intuitively her process includes application of heat and abrasion to reveal hidden layers, reflecting the changing forces of the natural environment.

Nic’s work has been shortlisted for the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition and was the subject of a solo exhibition at CCA Galleries International (sharing gallery space with limited editions by Damien Hirst and Sir Peter Blake).
